Robotics offers young learners an enjoyable way to develop practical skills that may support further study and future interests. Rapid changes in technology, society and work make it useful to explore new ideas and learn how to create technology projects in a world increasingly shaped byrobotics and AI. Starting to explore robotics and automation in lower secondary school gives learners time to practise related skills and collect evidence of their projects for a portfolio.

Who is this course for?

Electronic & Robotic with IoT is for lower secondary learners who want to build robots, explore electronics and practise coding. Through practical knowledge, activities and projects, learners combine electronics, programming and engineering skills, experiment with different sensors and explore sending data over the internet. Their work can provide evidence for a personal project portfolio.

Course approach

  1. Introduce lower secondary learners to robotics, electronics and IoT concepts.
  2. Build robots, connect electronic components and write real programs.
  3. Create mini projects in each lesson to develop practical confidence.
  4. Encourage an inventor’s approach through robotics and automation projects. Learners take an active role in projects that interest them, practising thinking and persistence as they develop into technology creators.
  5. Enjoy thinking, building, experimenting and presenting your work.
  6. Learners remain at the centre of every step. Teachers guide research, thinking, design, construction, programming and presentation, encouraging reasoning rather than relying only on following a computer demonstration or manual.

Raise Genius School highlights:

  1. Learn in small groups, with teaching overseen by a master’s graduate in robotics from FIBO, supporting a sound understanding of the subject.
  2. Go beyond instruction manuals: identify and solve problems, respond to new challenges and explore questions relevant to daily life.
  3. Create practical projects with active learner participation and present what you have learned.

The Raise Genius School learning process:

  1. Learn robotics concepts directly from robotics teachers.
  2. Build from a teacher’s suggested design or your own plan, with guidance throughout the process.
  3. Test repeatedly, then revise your project.
  4. Present your project.
  5. Experiment with your project and set further challenges. Build confidence for work that matches your interests and for more demanding tasks.
  6. Run and refine your project to explore useful applications in daily life.
